Another former main cast member is returning for Arrow’s final season. According to TVLine, Willa Holland will reprise her role as Thea Queen and will be a recurring character throughout Arrow season 8.
For five seasons, Willa Holland’s Thea Queen was a member of Arrow’s main cast. Eventually, due to being trained by her homicidal father and vigilante brother, Thea became a member of Team Arrow as Speedy. Holland was written out of the series completely in the middle of season 6, and outside of a brief guest appearance in season 7, we haven’t seen much from her character since.
It’s interesting to see that Holland will actually appear in multiple episodes during Arrow’s last run. Most likely, we’ll see multiple incarnations of our main cast throughout the final season since Oliver and The Monitor are seemingly on a journey across the multiverse to prepare for the Crisis. It’s a clever way to give your fans a bit of fan-service during this final season all while also setting up “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, which is being hyped up as the Arrowverse’s Avengers-level crossover event.
Along with Holland, Arrow season 8 will feature the return of Colin Donnell (Tommy Merlyn), Josh Segarra (Adrian Chase/Prometheus), John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer), and Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen).
Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the hit CW series, recently hyped up the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover on Twitter. He posted a picture of the cover memo on all 5 scripts of the event. The cover is pretty much a big warning to anyone on the staff stating to not share any plot details on social media:

It’s good to know that those in charge of the Arrowverse crossover are determined to prevent any possible spoilers. Let’s just hope it stays that way until the crossover airs this December.
Arrow is set to return for its eighth and final season October 15th on The CW.
