With Disney now owning 20th Century Fox, the entirety of X-Men: The Animated Series is now available on Disney+. It originally ran from 1992 – 1997 for a total of 76 episodes. Houston directed 62 of those episodes. It is one of the more cherished Marvel shows of the 90s. It undoubtedly introduced many kids to superheroes. A resurgence in popularity thanks to the streaming service wouldn’t be surprising. With the exception of the R-rated Logan and Deadpool spin-offs, the entire X-Men film series is also on Disney+.
Fans hoping for a revival of the classic series must keep in mind that nothing is confirmed yet. It is entirely up to Disney whether it happens. However, as beloved as X-Men: The Animated Series is, it certainly isn’t outside the realm of possibility.
