In the last few years, Xbox greatly increased its cloud gaming investments. With Stadia’s fall, things are even easier for the company. Xbox provides a subscription-based cloud service to gamers, which doesn’t need a console to buy. The service works with your current Xbox, PC, and mobile device. In addition, it looks like Xbox also works on a micro-console designed only for the cloud service. Xbox boss Phil Spencer shared a picture from his room, and that room shows a prototype of the new Xbox in development.

The photo is fictional, it might look like it was an accident to share it, but it’s not. The Xbox team’s reply confirmed that the shown console is a prototype and will probably be the first cloud-based physical console from Xbox.

Xbox Boss Shows The Prototype of the Xbox Cloud Console

The post was supposed to be an anniversary celebration for Fallout, but Phil Spencer put an old prototype of the upcoming Xbox console. Then, the Xbox team replies and confirms it’s an old prototype. That was good to know because, due to its dimensions, we might be thinking it’s just a model. It’s small because it doesn’t need big processing power; the cloud service makes all the processes. The console only needs a controller and a well-qualified internet connection.

You can already use the cloud service with your own devices. But you might also need an extra device to run the streaming service, especially for the TVs. It’s a little challenging to bring Xbox Cloud Service if you don’t have an Xbox or a PC to use screen mirroring. The cloud console might be a great choice if the pricing is fair enough. Especially with the 5G internet connection, cloud services are useful and cheap solutions.

There is no other information about the console’s release date, but we might expect more details soon.
