If you thought Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription couldn’t get any better, you were wrong. Recently, the company revealed that they are working on a “family” version of the subscription, much like Netflix and Spotify’s family plan. According to a new image shared by Microsoft leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter, it seems like Xbox is launching the “Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family” subscription plan globally sometime soon.

Currently, the Xbox Game Pass family plan is available only in two countries: Columbia and Ireland. It allows a person to share their subscription with up to four other people at a cost that translates roughly to $25/month, meaning $5/person. It was previously unclear if the Game Pass family plan would be locked for a single household (like Spotify). Still, the new “Friends and Family” branding suggests that Microsoft is going to be much more flexible with how you share your Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Currently, Microsoft offers two plans for Game Pass: Game Pass for PC/console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $10/month and $15/month. The Ultimate plan allows sharing your subscription to PC and access to the EA Play catalog, while the standard Game Pass plan is locked to a single console or PC and cannot access the EA Play titles. It deprives you of access to masterclass EA titles, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and It Takes Two, just to name a few.

The new Xbox Game Pass “Friends and Family” plan will give all five people added access to Game Pass Ultimate for just $5/month. We don’t know how Microsoft will turn this subscription profitable or sustainable, but we know that it will surely attract many more users. The company is yet to acknowledge the leak or make a public announcement regarding the Family and Friends plan.
