Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or just a new experience, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has your back. A series of new, free updates have come to the game in order to take the critically-acclaimed title from Team17 and Playtonic Games to a whole new level.

For those searching to challenge (or punish) themselves, Yooka-Laylee‘s “Impossible Lair” is made even more impossible, and you’ll want all the help you can get. There are no “bee shields”, or checkpoints, to keep track of your progress in the lair. If you can complete this grueling lair, a “Golden Try Tonic” is your reward, “without the need to restart the save”.

The devs detailed some of the updates in a recent press release:

Along with the gameplay updates, fans may hear a difference in the Yooka-Laylee sequel. “Players can now choose to hear the 2D level music in 8-bit chiptune, thanks to the work of Tatertottunes.”

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam– the first Yooka-Laylee can also be found on these platforms! As of this writing, the update is now officially live.
