Yooka-Laylee is looking unstoppable right now. The ‘rare-surrection of the buddy-duo platformers’, combining the talents behind Banjo-Kazooie and the Donkey Kong Country reboot, has already raised over 1.7 million dollars.
“Obviously we would like to offer our sincere thanks to everyone who has backed the project so far.” reads their latest announcement on Kickstarter. “Our intention from the beginning was to use Kickstarter as a means to improve Yooka-Laylee, and you’ve helped us shape it into one fine specimen.
But we’ve not run out of ideas yet! Backers can be assured that the Playtonic team will deliver a complete and satisfying game package. However, given the opportunity and additional resources required, we have a list of additional ‘dream’ extras we’d love to incorporate.
Yooka-Laylee’s Kickstarter ends on June 16. The game is slated for release during October 2016, and has so far been confirmed for PC, Mac, Linux, Playstation 4, Xbox One and the WiiU.
