Everything from Lego bricks to McDonald’s self-order kiosks to Ikea smart lighting and smart refrigerators has seen the original Doom. Here’s another great approach to the same idea. Thanks to a new mod, you can play original Doom inside of Doom II. According to a YouTube video, Doomception is now a real thing.

Why Do We Need Doom in Doom II?

Playing Doom on weird stuff is a meme that never gets boring. And now, players can run the original game inside Doom II. YouTuber and programmer Kgsws explained how he used the “SpawnMapThing” command, which is often used to add weapons, enemies, and power-ups to the game, to run its executables in Doom. But as a result of the games’ independence from one another, Kgsws realizes that they consume twice as much RAM as usual.

The developer used the Doom II editor, Chocolate Doom (a game source port), to construct a unique level and added a screen to one of the walls. On this screen, you can play the opening scene of the shooter as well as other id Tech 1 engine games such as Heretic, Hexen, and others. Although the mod isn’t finished, the developer claims it is already quite workable.

We’ve already known that there is already a mod that enables playing Doom within Doom (particularly the one known as GZDoom). But this is the first time in history that the DOS version of the game, which is the most original and oldest game, has allowed such extreme. This interesting mod is worth a look, thanks to its ability to play the game almost perfectly.

The action game was released in 1993 by id Software, and one of the first examples of the third-person shooter genre is this game. It was initially created for MS-DOS, but later some developers ported it to various other platforms, including digital camera and Apple Watch.
